[Tesla Unveils Roadster Equipped with SpaceX Thrusters, Set for Production in 2028] According to a report by Jinse Finance on October 16, citing TechCrunch, Tesla unveiled the second-generation Roadster equipped with SpaceX thrusters on the evening of October 15 (Eastern Time) at the SpaceX testing facility near Waco, Texas. During the demonstration, the car used fans and cold gas thrusters to ascend an inverted ramp, hover, rotate, and land, then leap over vehicles such as the Cybercab, Cybertruck, Tesla Semi, Model Y, and Model 3. Tesla claims the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 1 second. Elon Musk stated that production will begin in 2028, but no pricing details were disclosed. Tesla has also opened reservations, with a deposit of $50,000 for the Performance version, $250,000 for the Thrust version, and the Rocket version available only to invited users. All three versions have a range of 300 miles and a top speed exceeding 230 mph. Engineering Vice President Lars Moravy revealed that the car is equipped with 10 nozzles connected to 600 liters of compressed air, with the air tank being rechargeable. The car was first announced in 2017, with an original delivery date set for 2020, but it has faced multiple delays since then.
