Silicon Valley is buzzing with a new gold rush lately, but this time, it’s not about stocks—it’s about single people working at AI companies. According to matchmaking companies, the current top-tier targets are employees from Anthropic and OpenAI. Once these platforms find out someone at these companies is single, they’ll reach out faster than headhunters, inviting them to join singles mixers. In the past, clients would just say they wanted someone from the East or West Coast. Then it shifted to wanting Silicon Valley engineers. Now, they’re specifically asking for AI engineers. The reason behind this? AI company valuations have been skyrocketing, with IPOs lined up. For example, Anthropic, the company behind Claude, is planning to go public in mid-November, with a potential valuation exceeding $2 trillion. OpenAI hasn’t gone public yet, but back in October last year, over 600 employees sold shares and cashed out $6.6 billion—about 75 of them pocketed $30 million each. It’s gotten so popular that matchmakers are charging $1,500 to introduce three people. They’re leveraging their networks within big tech companies to scout potential matches.
