If SanDisk opens at 1400 today, I'll start selling small puts this week. If it drops, I'll sell more; if it rises, I won't sell. Selling 10%-15% OTM puts—I think this is a really solid strategy. Here’s what I think: 1. The market is super divided, and big disagreements mean no clear one-sided trend. 2. IV (implied volatility) is really high. #1 means volatility—whether it's sideways consolidation or downward swings, it's still volatility. #2 means significant volatility, so this is the kind of situation where selling options makes sense. As long as you believe it's high-volatility consolidation, selling options is a great move. Unless you think the storage cycle is over, in which case you can just avoid it altogether. Or if you believe a new one-sided uptrend is starting, then holding spot positions related to it makes sense. Personally, I’ve thought it’s been a consolidation phase since 3 weeks ago. I just don’t see it ending in the short term. Anyway, from 1800 until now, I’ve been selling for 3 weeks, with a max position of 30-40 contracts, and made $700K.
