Hassan Ahmed, Coinbase's Country Director for Singapore, stated that the opening of the new office reflects the company's long-term confidence in Singapore as a global financial and digital asset hub. Earlier this May, Coinbase announced a global workforce reduction of about 14%, but Ahmed emphasized that the expansion plan in Singapore is independent of the aforementioned layoffs.
