[Amundi: Japanese Bond Duration Seen as 'Highly Attractive']
According to a report by Jinse Finance on June 30, Amundi Investment Research stated in its mid-year outlook that the valuation of Japanese bond duration is becoming 'highly attractive,' but expansionary fiscal policies continue to deter investors. The institution noted that if the Bank of Japan adopts a more hawkish stance, it could improve inflation expectations and trigger a market rebound. While Japan's inflation has significantly eased due to policy measures, Amundi believes this is unlikely to convince investors that the Bank of Japan has moved past its 'lagging behind the curve' position. The institution predicts that the Bank of Japan will raise interest rates again in October to curb the weakening trend of the yen.
