[Two Oil Tankers Carrying Iranian Crude Anchor Near India] According to Golden Finance, on April 13, two sanctioned supertankers loaded with Iranian crude oil anchored at Indian ports. This could be the first batch of Iranian crude to arrive in India in nearly seven years, coinciding with the U.S. intensifying efforts to curb Tehran's exports. Due to U.S. sanctions, India has not received Iranian crude since 2019. However, an exemption granted last month allowed the purchase of crude already in transit, aiming to mitigate the impact of the Middle East war on global supply. As the world's third-largest crude importer, India subsequently announced it would purchase crude from Iran and other countries to address the energy crisis. Ship tracking data shows that the tanker *Felicity* anchored near Sikka in western India late Sunday evening. According to the Equasis database, this very large crude carrier (VLCC) belongs to the National Iranian Tanker Company and is loaded with 2 million barrels of Iranian crude, shipped from the oil export hub Kharg Island in mid-March. The tanker *Jaya* began signaling on Sunday, indicating it was docked near Paradip on India's eastern coast. Before the U.S. and Israel began attacking Iran, this vessel loaded 2 million barrels of crude from Kharg Island in late February.
