CZ: No need to panic about quantum threats, cryptocurrency only needs to upgrade to anti quantum algorithms
BlockBeats News: On March 31st, CZ posted on Binance Square stating that they have seen some people panic or doubt about the impact of quantum computing on cryptocurrencies. From a macro perspective, cryptocurrencies only need to upgrade to anti quantum (post quantum) algorithms, so there is no need to panic.
In fact, there are some execution considerations involved. In a decentralized world, organizational upgrading is not an easy task. There may be a lot of debate about which algorithm to use, leading to some forks. Some projects that have stopped development may not upgrade at all, and perhaps cleaning up these projects is also a good thing.
The new code may introduce other vulnerabilities or security issues in the short term, and users who keep their own Bitcoin need to migrate their Bitcoin to a new wallet. This raises a question about Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin. If these bitcoins are transferred, it means he/she is still alive, which is interesting. If these addresses have not been transferred within a certain period of time, it is best to lock (or effectively destroy) them to prevent them from falling into the hands of the first cracker. In addition, identifying all addresses is also difficult, and it is difficult to confuse them with the addresses of some old holders. But that's another topic, we'll discuss it later.
Fundamentally, encryption is always easier than decryption. More powerful computing power is always good. Encryption technology will continue to exist after the quantum computing era.
