[Former SEC Enforcement Chief Margaret Ryan Resigns Over Disputes in Handling Trump-Related Cases]
According to Cointelegraph, Margaret Ryan, the former head of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Enforcement Division, abruptly resigned on March 16. Reports indicate that she had disagreements with SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and other senior officials regarding the handling of Trump-related cases. Ryan sought to advance fraud charges in cases involving crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun and Tesla CEO Elon Musk but faced resistance. Earlier this month, the SEC settled its lawsuit against Justin Sun and his three companies for $10 million, with Sun neither admitting nor denying the allegations. On March 17, the SEC and Musk jointly filed documents stating they are negotiating a settlement plan. Ryan resigned after only six months in office, and the SEC has not disclosed specific reasons for her departure.
