Gemini political donations lose nearly $5 million due to Bitcoin decline

On January 31st, according to Bloomberg, the political fundraising group Digital Freedom Fund initiated by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss raised over $22 million in the last five months of 2025. According to documents submitted to the Federal Election Commission, Gemini transferred 188.4547 bitcoins to the super political action committee in August, with a price of approximately $114000 at the time, but they were not immediately converted into cash. As of December 31st, the price of Bitcoin has fallen below $88000, resulting in a loss of nearly $5 million in donated market value.
