Coinbase launches small-scale stock trading service, plans to fully open within weeks

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated that the company has launched a traditional stock trading service for a small user base and plans to open it to all customers within a few weeks, with backend support provided by Apex Fintech Solutions. This is part of Coinbase's "everything exchange" strategy, which includes various asset classes such as predictive markets in the future. Armstrong also mentioned that Coinbase will prioritize providing regular stock trading and will subsequently promote on chain native tokenized equities that correspond one-to-one with real shares and have dividend and voting rights, but their implementation requires consensus with regulatory agencies such as the SEC on accounting and rule details.
