The United States has fallen behind Brazil in tokenization,
Larry Fink publicly stated that Brazil, a long underestimated Latin American power, is quietly becoming a top student on the global crypto stage.
In 2024, the inflow of cryptocurrency is expected to reach approximately $318.8 billion, accounting for nearly one-third of Latin America. The cryptocurrency adoption index ranks fifth globally, and Brazil is now not only the largest cryptocurrency market in Latin America, but also one of the fastest-growing regions in the world.
Unlike the speculative orientation in Europe and America, Brazil's on chain activities are highly "stablecoin" - USDT and USDC account for nearly 90% of transactions, cross-border payments, and e-commerce scenarios, forming a hedging mechanism similar to a "parallel dollar system", reflecting residents' long-term hedging needs for inflation and real depreciation.
More importantly, Brazil has not excluded encryption from the mainstream financial system, but directly incorporated it into the regulatory framework:
More than 20 Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and comprehensive cryptocurrency ETFs have been listed on the main board exchange B3, and BTC futures have been launched to provide regulatory exposure for institutions;
Digital banks Nubank and PicPay will also embed stablecoins into their apps, making it a daily practice for millions of users to use USDC for wealth management and payments.
The regulatory authorities have incorporated stablecoins and cross-border transactions into a monitored system through encryption laws, tax declarations, and new foreign exchange regulations, rather than simply blocking them.
As a result, international capital is accelerating its bets on Brazil.
In December, DeFi Technologies successfully listed multiple encrypted ETPs in S ã o Paulo; Paradigm has made its first investment in Brazilian startup Crown, and its BRLV stablecoin has surpassed a subscription size of 360 million Brazilian reals.
With the central bank promoting the implementation of digital real Drex and more asset tokenization projects, Brazil is becoming a real-life example of the deep integration of "encryption technology+traditional finance".
What is underestimated is not the story, but Brazil has already taken the lead in the future discussed by others.
