[Polygon Deploys Madhugiri Hard Fork, Increasing Throughput by 33%]
Foresight News reports that Polygon has deployed the Madhugiri hard fork upgrade, increasing network throughput by 33% to approximately 1400 TPS. This upgrade introduces an adjustable block time mechanism, meaning that future adjustments to block speed can be completed directly within the chain architecture without requiring a hard fork. Additionally, the upgrade standardizes consensus time to 1 second and activates Ethereum Fusaka EIPs (including EIP-7883, EIP-7825, and EIP-7823), enhancing security by measures such as limiting the gas cap for single transactions. This upgrade aims to provide more reliable infrastructure for enterprise users such as Revolut, MasterCard, and Stripe.
