Global AI product monthly visits are growing rapidly! After looking at AI user numbers, let’s check out AI traffic. According to stats from Similarweb, global AI services reached approximately 7 billion monthly visits in September 2025. The growth on mobile is even more explosive, with AI app session volumes increasing fivefold over the past year and app downloads skyrocketing by 778%. ChatGPT dominates with 80% of global AI traffic, clearly holding a leading position. OpenAI’s platform grew from around 19 million monthly visits in 2022 to about 5.9 billion in September 2025, making it one of the top five most-visited websites globally, on par with Instagram’s 6.5 billion monthly visits. But honestly, this is probably just the beginning. Right now, the total traffic for AI products is still far behind Google, only about one-tenth of Google’s traffic. A quick check shows that Google reached around 8 billion monthly visits sometime between 2011 and 2012. This means AI has achieved in three years what took Google 13 years to accomplish—an absolutely staggering growth rate. I believe in another two to three years, the combined monthly traffic of AI products could reach Google’s current level. For now, AI monetization mainly relies on subscriptions, with other commercial avenues yet to kick off.
