**[U.S. Senators Call for Investigation into Trump Family-Linked Crypto Company World Liberty Financial]** According to CNBC, two U.S. senators have urged the Department of Justice and the Treasury Department to launch an investigation into World Liberty Financial, citing allegations that the company is linked to illegal actors in North Korea and Russia. On Tuesday, U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Jack Reed sent a letter to Attorney General Pamela Bondi and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, expressing concerns about World Liberty Financial. They stated that the cryptocurrency company, heavily owned and operated by the Trump family, could pose a risk to national security. The letter pointed out that World Liberty Financial lacks adequate safeguards to prevent bad actors from transferring funds or exerting influence over its governance. The senators referenced a September report by the nonprofit corporate watchdog organization Accountable.US. The report claimed that World Liberty Financial had sold its WLFI tokens to "multiple highly suspicious entities." These entities include traders linked to the North Korean hacker group Lazarus Group on the blockchain, a sanctioned Russian "ruble-backed sanction evasion tool," an Iranian crypto exchange, and the known money laundering platform Tornado Cash.
