Here’s a recap of how I missed out on AST. I might have been one of the first in the Chinese community to discover AST, but I still missed this big opportunity. Half a year ago, during the mubarak era, on one particular day (2025.3.24), @cz_binance’s on-chain public wallet made a transaction related to mubarak. I checked the blockchain and found that it was a leveraged long on mubarak, so I wrote this tweet about it. At first, I thought it was done on APX, but later an AST employee corrected me, saying it was on Astherus, which was later renamed to Aster. I think Aster is a better name because Astherus is too long and hard to remember. Since I thought Aster was a great opportunity, I set up a meeting with the Aster team and got two key pieces of information: 1. I could invest in the KOL round, but the allocation wasn’t big. 2. APX would later be swapped for AST, but the swap ratio hadn’t been decided yet (it was eventually announced as 1:1). Because the KOL round allocation was small, I didn’t take it seriously. As for APX, I wanted to buy it, but I forgot and didn’t follow through. As a result, I missed out on this APX rally. Lessons learned: 1. When cz signals something, you need to position yourself early—the earlier, the better. 2. I made some effort, but my execution wasn’t strong enough. I missed out on both the KOL round and APX. Next time I spot an opportunity like this, I need to follow through to the end.
