After reading Cicero's article, you'll understand why our current regime is bound to miss out on the decentralized industrial revolution:
The previous regime 'missed' the industrial revolution because its governance system couldn't meet the demands of developing commerce and industry, which required large-scale organization of the populace.
Organized citizens are harder to manage than atomized individuals—they're more likely to cause unrest and disrupt social stability.
Similarly,
The current regime's back-and-forth approach to cryptocurrency—relaxing regulations one moment, cracking down the next, endlessly flip-flopping—is still due to systemic incompatibility.
The existing legal system, heavily eroded by power, cannot handle the opening of capital accounts, and thus cannot truly embrace blockchain effectively.
Can power stop eroding the rule of law? No, because it's the foundation of the current power structure.
So capital accounts can't be opened, and the embrace of decentralized financial revolutions like cryptocurrency will remain superficial.
Missing out on cryptocurrency isn't the most fatal mistake—the real danger lies in the upcoming agentic economy driven by AI, which will only function on-chain, based on cryptocurrency.
The agentic economy is about to experience explosive growth, quickly becoming the most critical engine of this AI industrial revolution.
Our current regime is very likely to repeat the mistakes of the previous one.
