According to The Washington Post, US President Trump holds a total of $51 million in virtual currency assets, and about one in every five senior officials in the Trump administration holds virtual currency. An investigation into the public declarations of assets of approximately 300 senior officials in the Trump administration found that around 70 individuals hold virtual currencies or have invested in virtual currency and blockchain related businesses. Based on the 3rd, The Washington Post requested disclosure of financial information from all government nominees approved by the Senate, and 95% of them responded. The media independently screened blockchain or cryptocurrency, related wallets or enterprises from officials' financial information, and officials usually only publicly disclose the "scope" of assets held rather than the exact amount, so they estimated the lowest amount within the scope.
According to the investigation, senior officials of the Trump administration have declared a total virtual currency asset of at least $193 million. The highest holding amount is held by Ken Hawley, the US Ambassador to Denmark (co-founder of PayPal), who holds up to $120 million in virtual assets. Trump came in second, with the holding amount of the third place significantly reduced to millions of dollars. According to statistics, Vice President J.D. Vance's virtual assets are $250000.
