BOB is one of the Bitcoin Layer2 projects that I have been following and am very familiar with, focusing on EVM compatibility. Another popular competitor, Botanix, has just announced its mainnet launch. I am a participant in the first BOB Fusion and started saving money from Fusion1. Afterwards, I interacted with some applications around BTC with the initial goal of accumulating Spice points. Although there is still no clear airdrop plan, judging from BOB's narrative design, financing background, and ecological layout rhythm, TGE is likely to use community incentives and behavioral backtracking to distribute early shares. My current personal ranking Season 2 Final Ranking: 33427 Million Spice Season 3 current ranking: 37656 million Spice Currently, BOB's only source of revenue is its first NFT series in the ecosystem: PixelBobs. The team once collectively changed their avatars, and the highest hype for this NFT was around 600-800 US dollars. Free mint with a cost of 0. https://element.market/collections/pixelbobs At the beginning of their establishment, projects such as BOB and Botanix aimed to break the status quo, integrate BTC beliefs with EVM innovation, and break the limitations of BTC being limited to hoarding, allowing it to run smart contracts, participate in DeFi, and earn profits like Ethereum. BOB is no exception: they hope to transform Bitcoin from digital gold into the liquid core of DeFi. On the one hand, it inherits the native security and decentralization of Bitcoin; On the other hand, through the mechanism of smart contracts, BTC is endowed with tangible on chain use and profitability. As a hybrid Layer2 network, BOB combines the security of Bitcoin with the flexibility of Ethereum, opening up new scenarios for BTC on the chain and unleashing dormant value, with the goal of becoming the ideal city for Bitcoin DeFi. In my opinion, the logic of BOB can be summarized in one sentence: building a foundation with Bitcoin and constructing an Ethereum style smart contract world on top of it. It adopts a very special architecture: Hybrid Layer2, which balances security and flexibility: 1. The settlement layer directly connects to the Bitcoin mainnet, inheriting its strongest security; 2. Based on OP Stack startup, it natively supports EVM contracts, which means It is fully compatible with the development environment of Ethereum. Writing contracts, deploying applications, and connecting with third-party tools basically do not require code changes, and developers can "move in immediately". But it is not simply an Ethereum scaling chain. By connecting to the Bitcoin mainnet, introducing BitVM and staking mechanisms, BOB has integrated the "hard security" of BTC and the "strong flexibility" of ETH, truly bridging the core values of the two strongest encrypted chains Why is this architecture particularly important for BOB's BTC DeFi? Because traditional BTC users who want to participate in DeFi usually need to bridge their coins across the chain to Ethereum, turning them into packaged assets such as WBTC and tBTC, which is both troublesome and carries security risks. On BOB, with the support of BitVM and BTC staking system, users can participate in DeFi with "authentic" BTC with just one click, eliminating cross chain steps and making it more secure. Because of its focus on building the BTC DeFi ecosystem, BOB invested a lot of time in laying the foundation for cooperation and ecology in the early stages. Currently, over 100 projects have been deployed on BOB, including Uniswap, Aave, Euler, LiFi, Lombard, Chainlink, Babylon, Solv, and other projects that have integrated with BOB. DeFi TVL is approximately $130 million BOB supports all mainstream BTC packaged assets (such as WBTC, tBTC), LST (Liquid Staking Token), and Ethereum standard assets, ensuring that BTC users can directly access the existing DeFi world without the need for "relearning" and seamlessly get started. The core products include: 1. One click BTC staking: Users only need one BTC transaction to invest their assets in DeFi vaults, driven by Bitcoin Intents 2. Hybrid BTC Vault: Based on BTC security, participating in Ethereum and multi chain profit strategies, positions can be tokenized, collateralized, or leveraged. In the past period of time, BOB has not been in a hurry to issue coins, but has gradually stabilized its infrastructure, ecosystem, and user experience. Regarding TGE and Airdrop: To be honest, over time, the dilution of Spice points has become increasingly apparent, and the overall popularity of BTCFi has also cooled down. In this context, I am also observing: Can BOB not stop at 'technological stability', but truly break through once in product or mechanism, bringing dazzling innovation? Perhaps it's not the value of airdrops themselves, but whether BOB can find a truly BTC based on blockchain applications.
