Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, recently voiced concerns over the Trump administration's trade policies during the 2025 annual shareholder meeting 🇺🇸. He emphasized that trade "should not be a weapon," warning of potential dangers to national security!
Buffett highlighted that trade can lead to conflict, stating, "There is no question that trade can be an act of war." With nuclear capabilities in several unstable countries, he cautioned against the risks of tariffs creating envy and hostility.
He also reiterated that tariffs can raise prices for U.S. consumers, saying, "The Tooth Fairy doesn’t pay ‘em!" Instead, he advocates for free trade, urging the U.S. to collaborate globally and focus on what we do best.
