After searching around, stable and reliable U cards are becoming increasingly rare.
With Fiat24 suspending deposits, OneKey Card ceasing operations, and Infini transforming, the Crypto Card market has undergone a major reshuffle.
Yet the industry logic has never changed: U cards are the super entry point for crypto assets into the real world. As long as there is a demand for cross-border payments and daily consumption, the market will inevitably evolve into products that are more capable.
Here I share a product that I have been using since February this year - @BenPayGlobal, and I will also discuss its positioning in the current U card landscape.
It is incubated by Bixin Ventures, and the core team members also come from Bixin Ventures, positioning it not just as a card, but as a super application that integrates payment + trading + asset management.
1/ Product Line
BenPay currently focuses on two cards, with a clear layered product design logic.
Delta Card:
No KYC required
No spending limits
Suitable for users who do not wish to undergo identity verification or have a high spending demand.
Alpha Card:
Supports identity card KYC
More suitable for daily consumption scenarios.
This "dual card layering" product strategy is a relatively pragmatic approach in the current industry.
Using the Delta card to cater to privacy-sensitive users with large expenditures, while the Alpha card serves ordinary users with high-frequency, daily, and strong compliance awareness.
2/ Payment Scenarios
BenPay's cards currently support:
Overseas consumption
Apple Pay
Alipay (this is a capability that many U cards have long lacked)
I have both types of cards, but I use the Alpha card much more often.
The integration of Apple Pay and Alipay is a key differentiator.
Currently, most U cards only provide foreign Visa channels, and products that can simultaneously connect the two major domestic mobile payment entrances are few, which directly affects the usage frequency of U cards among Chinese users.
3/ Ecological Extension: BenPay AI API
It is worth mentioning that BenPay is not just a card, but is expanding towards a "super application" direction.
BenPay AI API has been launched, supporting newer models available in the market including GPT 5.6, Claude Fable, and Claude Sonnet, and is directly connected to the official key.
This action is actually quite interesting. It validates a recurring judgement in industry research: U cards themselves are not the endpoint, but the entrance. The truly imaginative path is the super application model of "payment + consumption + service."
Currently, there is an official survey activity, and participation gives you a chance to earn 3 U rewards. Link - https://forms.gle/h4x2Xu1hcCJWWMnv6
4/ My Practical Conclusion
From February of this year until now, the first image is my real bill, summarizing:
Stability is okay, there has been no instance of the card being rejected or suddenly deactivated.
Scenarios are sufficient; Apple Pay + Alipay basically cover mainstream daily needs.
Product iterations are fast.
If you are looking for a U card that you can hold long-term and use daily, BenPay is currently the most worry-free choice.
Regarding the card opening fee, let me clarify for everyone:
Currently, during the promotional period, there's a 0 yuan card opening fee, and activation requires a pre-deposit of 10U, which is yours and can be directly spent. There is also a 20U deposit, which is refundable and will be used to offset fees for failed transactions, etc. After spending 50U, you will receive an additional 2U.
