⚡️Vitalik @VitalikButerin has released a new long-term roadmap for ETH, defining Lean Ethereum as the third major reconstruction of Ethereum:

The first was the early PoW Ethereum,

the second was the PoS Ethereum after The Merge,

the third will be a long-term protocol transformation lasting 3-4 years, focusing on recursive STARK, quantum security, privacy-first, state layering, simplified consensus, and formal verification.

Each module taken out is a major project, requiring years of research and development, testing, and governance coordination.

Vitalik provided a potential form for 2030: 2 TB of current style dynamic state + 100 TB of new scalable state.

Ethereum is not satisfied with continued patching on the existing architecture, but is prepared to reinvent the underlying protocol without significantly disrupting existing applications.

Not just ordinary scaling, but by constructing new types of states to support larger-scale assets, accounts, and application data.

This means that Ethereum's application architecture, L2 positioning, wallet design, zk infrastructure, and the long-term narrative of $ETH will fundamentally change!
