From researching Bitcoin in Silicon Valley in 2015, to going all in on blockchain in 2020 and founding the leading DeFi research community Biteye, and now establishing the AI-driven KOL influence platform XHunt..Teddy has steadily kept pace with the tides of the times, like a "super individual" always in the laboratory testing new species. In his view, it does not matter how the track changes; what matters is: when production methods undergo generational evolutionary changes, are you standing in the closest place to the new tools?
In this episode of "Crypto Market Observation Bureau," we invited Teddy, founder of XHunt & Biteye. I chatted with him about: how should a true builder overcome anxiety and formulate strategies when Web3 meets AI? What is the real experience of the viral OpenClaw in Vibe Coding? Are current AI employees really effective? And what traits should humans not lose in the age of AI?

From buying Bitcoin for the first time to doing XHunt: entering the game because of seeing the disruption
Teddy has always been a high-risk control person; when he bought his first Bitcoin in Silicon Valley in 2015, he was still observing; it wasn't until 2020 when DeFi exploded, that the complete reconstruction of traditional industries by distributed finance excited him about the "disruption." However, going all in on blockchain seems not surprising for him who has a technical and fintech background in Silicon Valley from early years.
From doing DeFi research, writing his own articles, to founding the DeFi community Biteye, securing funding, and launching XHunt earlier this year, he did not take the hype route but focused on products that solve real user needs.
For Teddy, using AI now is not because AI is popular, but because he found that AI can help him better address the issues he wants to resolve in web3; this is the most practical application scenario. Therefore, the current Biteye provides in-depth content insights against the backdrop of information overload. XHunt addresses the quantification of KOL influence and increases content production efficiency.
AI will advise me to "call it a day" late at night like a real person
When talking about models, Teddy’s sharing is all practical experience. The general direction is using AI for work assistance or daily companionship:
Claude is strong in programming and is the only model that occasionally refuses commands;
Codex is quite good at production/programming;
Gemini has balanced abilities; the text is more delicate and feels more like a real person;
Grok is filled with Musk's influence, combines X information, and has a lot of AI and web3 news;
Seedance has higher image generation quality, and video quality is better;
ChatGPT was inexplicably banned after certifying a Hong Kong organization; money could not be withdrawn, and memory was all lost; this led to a certain "trust crisis" for him now.
Regarding AI anxiety, Teddy believes it mainly comes from three aspects:
1. People around are learning too quickly
2. If a company does not transform to AI, there are concerns about being eliminated
3. AI is also seizing the business, funds, talents, and attention in web3
Teddy is already reconstructing business around AI, but it requires some time. The team is currently practicing a "one person + a group of AI" organizational model. AI is no longer just about writing copy, but is deeply embedded in code review, deployment, and testing.
In addition to having AI employees develop programming for Vibe Coding, he also frequently discusses philosophy with employees and explores the company's strategic development together. One night at 11:30, his AI assistant suddenly said to him, "Chairman, why don't we call it a day and you can rest.” Such a human-like moment often makes him feel that the AI he developed is a living "person."
Although it occasionally behaves like a child with a logic disconnection in strategic decision-making, gets into dead ends, and encounters many bugs, at the basic execution level, AI has shown a dimensional reduction impact in productivity enhancement. According to Teddy, in terms of efficiency, it is about 5 times that of human employees.
AI Skills are the new entry point for future Web3
Skills are similar to apps in web2. Regarding the combination of AI and Web3, Teddy believes the most direct outbreak point lies in transactions and payments.
He predicts that future AI will not just be a chat window but will evolve into various Skills. In the future, we may not need to manually open various apps anymore; just one command will let the background Skill automatically help us place orders and transfer funds. This is also why leading trading platforms are rolling out their trading Skills (for example, BitMart has already launched tradingSkills). Because in the future, whoever can be called by AI will be the real traffic entry point.
AI security being overlooked just like early DeFi
AI security is crucial, involving asset isolation first, and secondly, important data should not be stored on computers that have AI installed. Teddy reminds everyone that today's AI industry is very similar to early DeFi, where everyone is rushing for innovation but ignoring security. "In the past, we had to prevent contract vulnerabilities, and now we need to prevent prompt attacks." He believes that the open permissions of AI agents and the management of API keys are significant hidden dangers. Once AI can directly operate transfers and call assets, if the security defenses do not keep up, it may lead to more severe losses than DeFi hacker attacks.
A message to newcomers: protect your "soul" in the age of AI
For young people wanting to enter the crypto space or learn AI, Teddy suggests first asking AI how to learn AI, which is the simplest and most direct method. At the same time, he also provided three pieces of advice:
Don't leverage: this is a highly speculative market where the principal may go to zero; surviving is more important than anything.
Web3 is still an opportunity for ordinary people to turn things around: while big players are currently burning money in the AI field, Web3 has a lower threshold and is fairer. As long as you are willing to study, college students also have the chance to burst forth.
Build a personal brand: this is an era of IP, regardless of whether in Web3 or AI, personal branding is the only asset that will not go out of style.
AI will indeed replace junior programmers, customer service, and many repetitive jobs, but it cannot replace the "soul" of humans. Teddy believes that human personal traits, independent thinking that is not brainwashed by algorithms, and intuitive strategic judgment will be the most valuable assets in the future.
"The era of one-person companies has arrived." Teddy's tone reveals excitement. What used to take dozens of programmers can now be done by one person plus a group of AI employees. As long as you have a good idea, this is the greatest opportunity for ordinary people to turn things around.

After chatting with Teddy, the deepest feeling is his relaxed demeanor after having personally tried things. He does not worry about whether AI will take someone's job, but instead practices first. In an AI era where everything is accelerating, he still insists on starting from user needs; this return to common sense could be the truth behind a "super individual" navigating through cycles.
Teddy revealed in the interview that they will launch a Skill written almost entirely by AI in a few weeks, targeting practical scenarios. This is a practical tool that requires high accuracy.
