I actually highly recommend South Korea for several reasons:
Although obtaining a work visa in South Korea is not difficult, the cost of living is not low. Japan's immigration system is simple and not complicated, while South Korea's immigration system is very complex and the requirements are often modified.
Living in South Korea requires Korean language skills, but I personally feel that the practicality of Korean is somewhat inferior to that of Japanese. Japan is relatively indifferent to foreigners, but not hostile, whereas in South Korea, I personally feel that it is not just indifference; at times, there can be some hostility.
Japan's economic stability is more mature, and social unrest is relatively low, while South Korea experiences greater fluctuations. For example, renting in South Korea used to be very complicated and had many pitfalls, whereas in Japan it is much more mature and straightforward.
In terms of healthcare, Japan provides comprehensive coverage, and there is no distinction for foreigners. Although South Korea has good medical conditions, its friendliness towards foreigners is limited.
In education, while Japan is competitive, South Korea is even more so. The local competition is already very intense, and foreign students can easily be at a disadvantage.
In daily life, Japan's concept is to live and let live, trying not to disturb each other. So even if you don't speak Japanese, at most, people will just mumble about you in their hearts, and there are clear boundaries in life. However, in South Korea, if you cannot integrate, life can be quite exhausting.
