I started using a Hong Kong card myself in 2019.

I started using a Hong Kong card in 2019 when I had a company in Hong Kong, and KYC was required. I am still using this card now since I registered for a bunch of things. Initially, it was 338 HKD per month, shared across the Greater Bay Area, allowing simultaneous access to data in Hong Kong, mainland China, and Macau. I remember that Hong Kong had about 200G, and mainland China had 50G. The best part was that if you exceeded the limit, it would downgrade to 3G, and then it would be unlimited data.

Now it seems to have changed to unified data. I still occasionally use this card when I go abroad, mainly because the roaming fees are relatively cheap, and the options are quite good. However, now the Hong Kong card requires KYC, and you must have a residential address in Hong Kong, which is very convenient for friends in Shenzhen. This card has actually been my main card for a long time.

Later, I went to Singapore and initially used a local Singapore card, which I am currently using. However, this card is not very friendly for roaming; it supports very few roaming locations and is quite expensive. Then a friend introduced me to this China Unicom SIM card in Singapore, which is suitable for those who frequently travel between China and Singapore. The price is quite cheap, and the roaming is not expensive.

This card also requires KYC, and it needs KYC for Singapore residency. Moreover, one KYC can only process a maximum of five cards, making it quite difficult for friends who are not in Singapore.

I am not very familiar with other options. Nowadays, many cards require KYC. Of course, some DePin project eSIMs are still quite good, like those from @XPINNetwork, which I am currently using.
