🧐Good teacher, I have completed my studies as advised, here are my notes——

Achievements in life come from both effort and luck. The key is to acknowledge luck, let go of past mistakes, and continuously improve, living in a way that you would be proud to have written in your obituary.

1️⃣ What I learned:

What I learned from Buffett’s Advice is that life involves both effort and luck.

I want to acknowledge the luck I have received and focus on improving myself. I will not be stuck in past mistakes. I will live a life that I am proud of.

2️⃣ My three favorite pieces of advice to memorize:

Don’t beat yourself up over past mistakes — learn from them and move on.

Decide what you want your obituary to say — and live to deserve it.

It is never too late to improve.

3️⃣ Selected learning paragraphs (concise and clear, suitable for reading aloud)

1. Gratitude & Luck

In many cases, our leaders and the rich have received more than their fair share of luck — which, too often, they prefer not to acknowledge.

fair share of luck: a considerable amount of luck | indicating benefiting from the forces of fortune

2. Early Life

I was born in 1930, healthy, reasonably intelligent, white, male, and in America. Thank you, Lady Luck.

reasonably intelligent: quite smart | a neutral expression, not boastful

3. Charlie Munger’s Influence

For more than 60 years, Charlie was my teacher and protective big brother. We had differences but never an argument.

protective: having a protective nature | used to describe relationships or character

4. Home & Longevity

In 1958, I bought my first and only home. I reached old age partly because of luck — escaping disasters, accidents, and illnesses.

devastating disaster: a catastrophic disaster | emotionally strong, can be used in risk analysis

5. Life Reflection

I’m happy to say I feel better about the second half of my life than the first.

6. Buffett’s Advice

Don’t beat yourself up over past mistakes. Learn and move on.

Decide what you would like your obituary to say — then live to deserve it.

It is never too late to improve.

obituary: obituary, a summary of life | used by Buffett as a metaphor for life direction
