Let me talk about why I encourage many young newcomers to the industry to go to Shenzhen!
After returning from Shenzhen yesterday, I wrote about my chat with Lao Xue and Qiu Xing. Although the time was tight and we didn't chat for long, I think this is the speed of Shenzhen!
Over the years, I have always liked the city of Shenzhen.
Especially for friends who have just graduated and entered the WEB3 space, if you ask me where you should develop, I will definitely recommend Shenzhen!
If you are in a third or fourth-tier small city, you should definitely go to Shenzhen!
1️⃣ Shenzhen is very inclusive
Your background, upbringing, and education are important here, but they are not the most important, especially in WEB3. If you can be diligent and have your own ideas and drive, you will be accepted. You will find that many people are "self-made," so they are more willing to give opportunities to newcomers.
2️⃣ In Shenzhen, you can meet more "noble people"
In other cities, resources are tightly controlled and circles are solidified; but in Shenzhen, many times you just need a dinner or an event to meet people who are willing to help you. Because people here know—time is too precious, and collaboration is more efficient than calculation.
3️⃣ Shenzhen has more transparent information, which means more opportunities;
Whether it's primary market, secondary MeMe opportunities, or emerging technology tracks, the earliest news and the most sensitive changes often ferment here first in the country. Information disparity is opportunity disparity; understanding information disparity can save you at least ten years of hard work.
4️⃣ Shenzhen has more "doers"
You will see many people discussing cooperation during the day and writing proposals at night; some are coding in cafes, while others are still revising PPTs in the early morning. This atmosphere of "everyone is hustling" makes it particularly easy for people to get into the zone.
However, all of this is based on one premise: are you reliable? Are you someone worth trusting?
Being reliable is not just talk; it means you follow through on your words, are willing to take responsibility, and are accountable for the results. You can put others at ease and also put yourself at ease!
Shenzhen has many opportunities, but it also filters people quickly.
Reliable people, even if initially overlooked, will eventually be recognized;
Unreliable people, even if they get opportunities, will soon be eliminated by the market.
