The testnet that once "smoked" is finally going to release an airdrop.
Last night, Monad announced on the X platform that the airdrop claim link will open on October 14 (Tuesday). According to AEVO data, the pre-market price of the MON token rose to $0.14 after the airdrop claim time was confirmed, but has since retreated to $0.117.

Project Introduction
Monad, developed by the Pyth and Solana teams over more than two years, is a high-performance L1 public chain compatible with Ethereum. According to official documentation, Monad defines itself as a high-performance L1 that uses a PoS mechanism and is EVM-compatible, aiming to create a new paradigm for public chains through pipelined execution of Ethereum transactions. Key innovations include MonadDB (a database designed specifically for accessing Ethereum state) and Optimistic parallel execution (ensuring high TPS with minimal overhead). Monad separates the consensus layer from the execution layer, further enhancing scalability and enabling developers to build applications that require exceptional performance and low latency.
On the evening of April 9, 2024, Monad Labs announced the completion of a $225 million financing round at a valuation of $3 billion, led by Paradigm, with participation from Electric Capital and Greenoaks. As one of the most notable projects in the Layer 1 space, Monad, which focuses on the "Parallel EVM" concept, aims to introduce a "parallel processing" execution layer scaling solution that significantly improves network execution efficiency while being 100% compatible with all EVM bytecodes.

Airdrop Claiming Major Innovation? Tasks Must Be Completed Within Time Limit to Claim
Yesterday, Monad's growth director Kevin McCordic (@Intern) stated during an appearance on the threadguy podcast: “Past airdrops typically used a qualification verification system, where you first verify if you meet the criteria before you can claim. Monad's airdrop will not use this method; there will be a time-limited window during which you must complete specific actions to claim.”
Based on feedback from Monad's growth director and community members, here are some speculations regarding the upcoming Monad airdrop claim:
- The MON token airdrop claim is time-sensitive and may follow a "first come, first served" model, requiring related tasks to be completed before claiming;
Community speculation: Claiming difficulty at hell level
It may require binding social media accounts to assess account quality, with high-quality social accounts potentially receiving more token airdrops;
Token claiming and token staking will launch simultaneously, with the amount and duration of staking determining the number of airdropped tokens.
Finally, since Monad is likely to directly launch a time-limited airdrop claim, users who participated in early interactions need to follow the official X account to get the airdrop claim website and time as soon as possible.
Users who missed Monad's early interactions still have a chance to win token airdrops
It is believed that Monad's official announcement of the airdrop claim time last night has already completed a snapshot of early participants, so now is not a good time to continue "testing the testnet." However, in the days leading up to Monad's TGE, there are still opportunities to win token airdrops, speculated as follows:
"Accumulate" Binance Alpha points or hold BNB tokens
Last month, the vast majority of popular projects allocated a certain number of token airdrops to Binance Alpha, with many projects providing shares to Binance Alpha users that far exceeded those for early participants. Therefore, although there have been many "low-value" airdrop projects on Binance Alpha since the National Day, it is still worth continuing to accumulate points before Monad's TGE; perhaps Monad will be the "next big thing" for Binance Alpha. Additionally, popular projects like Monad may have opportunities to launch on Binance spot, so users holding BNB tokens will also have a chance to receive MON token airdrops.
Airdrop activities from major exchanges are also worth noting
Generally speaking, for hot projects like Monad, most mainstream centralized exchanges will launch contracts and spot trading, and to attract users to trade, there will be various token reward plans, such as depositing USDT to "earn" tokens, trading to earn tokens, inviting new users to earn tokens, etc., which are worth paying attention to.
Moreover, the next project for OKX Boost may also be Monad, and users need to weigh their wallet balance and trading volume to determine if they need to "make up the volume" to qualify for the airdrop.
Continuous interaction with Monad ecosystem native projects is worthwhile, as TGE is also ongoing
During the long wait for Monad's mainnet launch, many project teams have chosen to "seek other paths" and deploy on other chains due to the prolonged wait for the launch time. A representative case is Kintsu, which was originally positioned as a Monad native LSD protocol but ultimately chose to launch its mainnet on the Hyperliquid chain first.
However, with the official confirmation of the airdrop claim time by Monad, the mainnet launch has entered the countdown stage. This not only means that the ecosystem is about to welcome a new round of activity but may also drive projects that have migrated away and those that remain in the Monad ecosystem to simultaneously initiate their TGE. Therefore, at this stage, it is essential to focus on those Monad ecosystem native projects with financing backgrounds and high community discussion.
