This can also serve as a reminder for my friends. Although the money from Twitter isn't much, it does feel like the earnings and investment in the Chinese region are disproportionate. When I registered back then, I was still in Shanghai, and at that time, I couldn't register, so I registered in Hong Kong, with an address in Hong Kong and a Hong Kong bank card. After registration, although the bank card information can be changed, the region cannot be modified.
The general mechanism for Twitter earnings is that posts come with advertisements, and your location and the language of the posts both affect earnings. I've discussed this with many friends, and the earnings in the English region should be the highest, mainly because English advertisements target the broadest audience.
Secondly, even within the same region and language, the earnings from Premium and Premium+ can differ by half. The official explanation is that Premium+ has a greater weight. I have experienced this myself; the difference between the Premium I used in the second year and the first and third years (now) is exactly double.
There are two reasons for this phenomenon. The first is that there are more advertisements placed in the English region, with a broader audience and more coverage, while there are fewer advertisements in the Chinese region, with a smaller audience and less coverage. For example, the largest Chinese-speaking country cannot use Twitter, and the main advertisements are placed in Hong Kong, with a small amount from Taiwan and Singapore, which naturally creates a significant gap compared to the global English market.
Although Japanese is not one of the top languages in the world, Japanese companies invest heavily in advertising, and Twitter is also one of the main social media platforms in Japan. So, theoretically, if @_FORAB could output in Japanese, the Twitter ad revenue could potentially be about double.
The second reason is that the more interactions there are with Premium and Premium+, the higher the earnings for creators. This is why there was a period when Kaito (Zui Lu) had very high earnings, as many of Zui Lu's followers are blue V (Premium or Premium+), making it the most effective for Twitter. However, in recent months, Twitter seems to have noticed this issue and has made some changes. But indeed, more interactions with Premium and Premium+ can increase ad revenue.
In fact, although I know all this, for most friends in the Chinese region, there aren't many options. Consider this as knowledge dissemination.
PS: I've seen the earnings reports from friends in the English region, with about 100,000 followers, each post getting 10,000 views, posting 2-3 pieces of any content (non-pornographic and non-political, preferably finance-related) daily, they can earn about $3,000 a month. The highest I've seen was someone who earned nearly $15,000 in half a month.
