This afternoon, ConsenSys' Ethereum Layer 2 network Linea (Click here for basic information about the Linea project) announced on the X platform that airdrop queries are now open (link: https://linea.build/hub/airdrop), and the TGE will take place on September 10.

9% of Total Supply Will Be Used for Airdrop with No Lock-up Period
According to official documents, the total supply of Linea tokens is 72,009,990,000, which is equivalent to 1,000 times the initial circulation of ETH. Its distribution method echoes the genesis distribution method of Ethereum, indicating its long-term consistency with the broader ecosystem, namely 85% of the supply is dedicated to the ecosystem, while the remaining 15% is allocated to the ConsenSys treasury. The detailed token distribution ratio is as follows:
- Early Contributors: 10% of the total token supply. Among them, early users will receive 9% of the total token supply, and the airdrop will occur at TGE with no lock-up period. The distribution group consists of users who obtained LXP. An additional 1% of the total token supply will be reserved for strategic builders in the Linea ecosystem and will be fully unlocked at TGE;
- Ecosystem: 75% of the total token supply. This portion of tokens is allocated to an ecosystem fund (to be established as a non-profit entity headquartered in the United States), which will be managed by the Linea Alliance (a council composed of Ethereum native developers), including members such as ENS Labs, Eigen Labs, SharpLink, Status, and ConsenSys;
- Treasury: 15% of the total token supply. This portion of tokens will be locked for five years and cannot be transferred during the lock-up period, but can be deployed within the ecosystem, such as for liquidity or staking funds, to support the health and consistency of the protocol.
Linea Token Economic Model
Additionally, approximately 22% of the token supply (15.8 billion LINEA tokens) will be available for circulation at TGE, including airdrops for early contributors, ecosystem activation programs, and liquidity supply allocations.
Who is Eligible for the Airdrop?
Users holding at least 2,000 LXP or 1,500 LXP-L are eligible for the airdrop (eligible addresses must meet activity thresholds and must not be identified as witch accounts). According to official information, a total of 9,361,298,700 LINEA tokens will be distributed to 749,662 eligible addresses.
In addition, Linea has prepared token bonus rewards for some active addresses, with specific rules as follows:
- Active addresses before the EIP-4844 upgrade: Must have completed at least one transaction between the mainnet launch and March 27, 2024.
- Active addresses after the LXP Voyages event: Must have interacted with contracts in at least 6 different months between August 1, 2024 (block height: 7533487) and June 30, 2025 (block height: 20473167) (months do not need to be consecutive).
- MetaMask using addresses: Any time before June 30, 2025 (block height: 7533487), using Linea's MetaMask for swaps or bridging, staking with MetaMask, or using the MetaMask card will qualify for a 10% boost (not stackable).

LXP Level Determines Token Distribution Amount
Linea's reward system is designed in tiers, with LXP holders divided into seven levels. The higher the level, the larger the share of LINEA received (LXP query link: https://dune.com/linea/tge-boost-checker). The specific LXP level divisions are:
- Tier 1: 2,000 - 2,999 LXP;
- Tier 2: 3,000 - 3,999 LXP;
- Tier 3: 4,000 - 4,499 LXP;
- Tier 4: 4,500 - 4,999 LXP;
- Tier 5: 5,000 - 6,499 LXP;
- Tier 6: 6,500 - 7,999 LXP;
- Tier 7: 8,000+ LXP.
Distribution within the same tier is proportional to the amount held; for example, a user holding 5,500 LXP will receive more tokens than a user holding 5,300 LXP.
Airdrop Claim Time and Rules
This airdrop will officially start on September 10 and will last for three months, ending on December 9. All eligible token shares will be released in one go, and users do not need to worry about ownership or phased unlocking issues. However, if the claim is not completed within the deadline, the shares will be automatically reclaimed after December 9 and reinjected into the Linea ecosystem fund.
Ongoing Airdrop Activity: Linea Liquidity Incentive Program
Linea officially announced the launch of the liquidity incentive program Linea Ignition, planning to distribute 1 billion LINEA tokens as incentives to attract an additional 1 billion USD TVL to Linea.
The event will last until October 26, 2025, with eligible cooperative agreements in the initial phase including Etherex, Aave, and Euler, with Turtle Club expected to be added later. 40% of the token incentives will be unlocked on October 27, and the remaining 60% will be unlocked linearly over 45 days.
