In 2021, many public chains used the lead in TPS as a way to kill ETH, but most of those killers ended up failing.

Whether a public chain can have a long-term future primarily depends on what kind of applications it has, what problems it can solve, whether it can achieve better decentralization, and whether it can provide investors with opportunities for profit.

Before relying on memes, #SOL went through this phase and ended up being labeled as a casino chain, which is the term Solana most wants to shake off.

On the contrary, I think X Layer can focus more on decentralized trading itself, building cross-chain acceptance and liquidity structures. Concentrating on trading support may actually present opportunities; competing on TPS or lowering gas fees is not crucial.

When inscriptions first started, the gas on BTC was more expensive. Did that dampen investors' enthusiasm? Instead, a whole bunch of BTC layer two networks focused on being cheap, and what happened then?
