🧐 Yesterday, I sold 20% of my Ethereum position: the market is always fluctuating, and one only needs to balance action and restraint.
Two viewpoints—
1) Seven trades, four years of inactivity: the position management philosophy of an old investor!
2) This drop in Ethereum is for a better rise!
Yesterday, I told an old friend that I sold part of my position at 4700 (about 20% of my position);
Someone asked if I thought it had peaked?
I said, of course not. If I thought it had peaked, I wouldn't be selling 20%.
It was just a psychological price point; the intuition and rules of an old investor told me: it's time to take some profits.
The experience of an old investor is valuable because—
Their perception of the market is usually sharper:
This perception, of course, does not predict the future, but it allows one to hear that inner whisper when emotions are heating up: it's time to take some profits at this stage;
And they can also firmly execute the rules they set for themselves, unaffected by other factors, not easily disturbed by external noise and FOMO.
I remember that during the bull market from 2021 to 2025, I only made 7 trades; at that time, I was criticized for lacking skill, but little did they know that each trade was driven by deep thought and perception;
Of course, I think 7 trades is too many because there were two instances where I would have made more if I hadn't traded!
This is just to say that in a bull market, the mindset is to act less and observe more, but when it reaches a certain strategic position, one must act decisively; this is the biggest lesson learned from previous cycles!
Also, note: this does not mean I think Ethereum won't rise!
I am not bearish on Ethereum; if I were, I would have sold everything. I still hold a large position, possibly more than many of you:
I am not surprised that Ethereum has reached an unexpected price this round; its fundamentals are still growing—
This pullback, I think, will allow more people to enter without psychological burdens; if it drops to a good position, I might even buy back!
What I see more of right now is—
1️⃣ Fundamentals continue to strengthen:
2️⃣ Supply and demand structure is being restructured:
3️⃣ ETF expectations have yet to be fulfilled:
4️⃣ The narrative is gaining momentum:
5️⃣ Funding style preferences are changing:
ETH is not a "hot project," but the foundation for all structural opportunities in the next bull market. Holding ETH is not about "betting on a double," but "betting that the era won't choose the wrong cornerstone."
So I will focus on two things: position management and expectation management—
First, position management, ensuring I have bullets and a safety net;
Second, expectation management, not fantasizing, not being greedy, and earning what I can earn.
Finally, why I haven't shared this type of operational advice on Twitter before, during these eight years of writing, I have deeply felt the darkness of human nature. In the face of sensitive prices and trades, sincere sharing often leads to misunderstandings, and public expression can easily become a target for attacks.
So I only share with friends I have a good relationship with!
Do your best, and wait patiently for the flowers to bloom!
