The focus this time is the official launch of Metis's new chain, the Hyperion testnet. This is one of the most noteworthy upgrades for Metis this year. This upgrade is not in the direction of traditional Layer 2, but rather a high-performance execution network centered around AI. Through the Metis SDK, developers can easily customize virtual machines, sorters, and storage modules, generating their own Layer 2 or Layer 3 with just one click.

This approach is quite similar to the concept of Substrate, both using a modular approach, which is more friendly to developers. Therefore, Hyperion is the first showcase built with the SDK, LazAI is the second, and in the future, there may be countless chains sharing METIS as the core for settlement and governance.

On the technical dimension, the Metis SDK lowers the barrier for "chain creation" to the level of "issuing tokens." Developers do not need to worry about the infrastructure and can focus on business logic. Especially since Hyperion supports millisecond-level on-chain inference, it truly moves AI from an off-chain black box to transparent execution on-chain, fundamentally changing the credibility and performance of AI applications.

In summary, ETH is the computer, and Metis is the operating system.
