I see many friends playing ETHOS, so I followed the trend as well, but every day, aside from completing a task for airdrops, I hardly participated in anything else. I even uninstalled the plugin. The main reason is that the "self-entertainment" aspect is too strong, just like a friend @Nickp_xxx asked in the artist's comment section.
First of all, this kind of judgment is too subjective, and the sample size is too small to serve as a standard for evaluation. Why do people like Polymarket? Because it speaks with money and has a strong element of competition. The ETHOS scores can only be seen by those who have the plugin installed, and even if one sees a low score, can it change their perception of that user?
The answer is no. It's like me wanting to judge Trump for messing around with tariffs. Can I do that? Of course, I can, and I might even have a good chance of winning. I could even deduct points from Trump on ETHOS, but would it affect Trump? No. Would it stop Trump from making decisions on tariffs? No.
I could also judge Powell for not lowering interest rates and pushing the economy into recession. I believe I could win that too. But more importantly, what happens if I win? I can understand that winning increases points, and in the future, there might be airdrops based on those points. This idea is quite similar to Kaito, but this expectation of airdrops is nothing more than a "carrot in front of a donkey." We are desperately grinding for points for the airdrops, while the project team enjoys the exposure we provide to increase their valuation, obtain more funding, or meet listing conditions. I feel this is quite unequal.
Of course, this is a form of entertainment, and that's perfectly fine. But if one takes it seriously, it becomes apparent that such projects find it very difficult to fundamentally address the chaos of "KOLs." As Escape Classmate said, let's first judge those who are cutting leeks. But interestingly, many who are genuinely cutting leeks have high scores. Isn't that a joke?
Because the essence is that everyone is grinding for points, not for "justice." In the end, it still turns into a score-grinding game, and after getting the airdrop, it continues to be ignored.
