I found that many people have a lot of misunderstandings about the term "庄家" (market maker). I have made a summary:
The definition of modern market makers is: through influence/control of circulation and other means, fully intervene in a certain market, occupy dominance, and maximize their own interests.
1/ Not all violent price manipulation is caused by market makers.
2/ The "discourse power" and "control power" of market makers in different asset markets are different.
3/ Market makers cannot control every detail, especially in the complex and chaotic FOMO market, they also need to take it step by step.
3/ Market maker is a generic term. It could be an individual, a team, a team and external partners, exchanges, politicians and officials, a monopoly group.
4/ The larger the asset, the more severe the "hierarchical" effect of market makers, and there is also exploitation between top-level market makers and bottom-level market makers.
5/ The larger the market value, the higher the difficulty of operation.
6/ Market makers are not always participating in the market at all times.
This thread will continue to share examples to help everyone understand.
